“Few achieve their dream of calling, mine being the army, became a living reality. Nothing mattered but the existence in the uniform. Money was enough, is enough and will always be more than enough to free me of financial burdens. Because as long as you carry with yourself dignity and respect, it is sufficient to meet your needs.
I’ve had three near-death experiences, back in 2002 at the Line Of Control..and for that I’m thankful to God for having shown me the will to live life. Leading my men and establishing a kind of trust with them sums up my satisfaction with the Army life. The forces teach you to walk, talk and think straight.
To the youth of today I’d say this – Join the forces only if you have passion otherwise you will cease to remain happy. For only those with passion will gain respect, discipline and courage. I’ve noticed how many youngsters are very unwilling to join the forces and that happens because they probably do not know its worth.
..And I couldn’t have been more content with the life that I have lived in the last 28 years.”
