“I have seen 62’ 65’ and 71’ wars. Although my memory is a bit hazy, I remember it just fine.
It seems so long ago!.
My husband was an Air force Officer, he got commissioned in in 1943, retired in 1978! He is now 91 years old. My entire life revolves around taking care of him. It makes me feel so happy and complete.
Forces wives play a pivotal role during a crisis. They lay the foundation of motivation and emotional support for our soldiers. I remember during the 65’ war all the ladies used to spend day and night cooking food for our men, we used to be on the railway station for 24 hours giving every soldier in special trains or soldiers joining units on mobilization, a meal before they went out to war. The special military trains would leave every 5 minutes but we made sure that our men were fed properly. One of the most emotional instances that I remember was when soldiers from these trains used to hand out hand written letters from their windows to us asking us to post them. These letters were mostly for their wives, mothers, fathers and children telling them of the war and asking them to remain strong. We knew and understood deeply the importance of those letters! All the ladies used to take it upon themselves to post these letters and made sure that they were posted properly”

Q.” How do you spend your time now a days?”
“I run a school for the Blind. I love teaching and have taught in schools where ever we were posted. My life’s mission is to take care of my husband and to run my school for the blind. It is the most amazing feeling ever, when you see children learn new things, their faces light up!” There is so much that can be done by the CM in Delhi.

Q. “What do you want to convey to Mr. Arvind Kejriwal?”

“ I have always felt that education is the most basic right of every child. Quality education should be made readily available to everyone at affordable prices. Recently I found out that my domestic help’s child could not get admission in a Govt. School. She was desperate to give her child education and found out that getting admission in a govt college is complete business and there are touts everyehere asking for nothing less than 25000/- for getting a seat in a school. This is highly unfair and govt schools should be open to everyone. I want to ask Mr. Arvind Kejriwal to look into this matter so that innocent people do not suffer and right to education is not lost.”

Served the country for nearly 35 years.

Let’s make sure that her voice doesn’t fade away and this issue is taken care of at the earliest. Child education is not a matter to be played with and strict action should be taken against those who hinder and disrupt it,. Govt Schools and Private schools have a duty towards those in need and should ensure 100% transparency in admissions and our govt. should make sure that touts and middle men are removed from every stage so that no one takes advantage of innocent people who are in need of help.
Let’s make sure that every child gets a proper education!
