” I’ve been in the wars of 62′,65′ and 71′. I commanded 6 Assam in eastern sector in 1971 and made 18,000 enemy soldiers surrender to my battalion by a night long march and subsequent capture of a major enemy division in Natore.
One General, 5 Brigadiers and 18,000 enemy soldiers surrendered to us without fighting. This is a memorable achievement and I am very proud to be a commanding officer of my troops which comprised of tribals of northeast and people of the plains of Assam ”
